Paddle Round The Pier (or Paddle) has fast become the world's largest free festival and we're pleased to say it's hosted on our neighbouring Hove lawns. The charity event attracts on average 50,000 people on the lawns making Brighton and Hove the place to be this weekend. If you haven't been to a Paddle event before brace yourself for sponsored watersport events, bands, food and bar stalls, skate ramps, even a dog show!
Each year, three charities are selected by the PATP organisation and the 'paddlers' raise money through sponsorship to paddle round the pier in whatever floats their boat (sorry). Whether something sensible - or more hilariously not, it makes great viewing for everyone. The lovely Rockinghorse charity has been chosen as one of the three charities this year.
We speak to Liz, their community Groups and Schools Fundraising Manager who is co-ordinating all things Rockinghorse at Paddle Round the Pier...."Rockinghorse is very excited to have been chosen as one of the official partner charities for Paddle Round the Pier. The Rockinghorse team will be handing out information and looking to sign up willing participants to a range of upcoming challenge events and fundraisers."
