Last week, we welcomed a bunch of our favourite bloggers to sample our recently launched PTD Makes classes at an exclusive bloggers bash in our newly revamped craft studio. We wanted to see what this group of creatives thought of our Makes events, so we set them to work on a spot of macrame (and cocktail drinking) to celebrate the latest string to the Posh Totty Designs bow. Here are a few snaps from Thursday and Friday's parties...
Our cute signpost at the bottom of the alley on Brighton's Bond Street. Just in case anyone lost their bearings.
We enjoyed a few veggie bites...
... and a few sweet treats too... Macrame-fest ready to go!
Who was there? For round one on Thursday evening, we were thrilled to have the gorgeous Carrie from One Pleasant Day; beautiful Lyndsay of Fizzy Peaches; lovely Lucy from Peas and Needles...
Our whizzkid crafter (and Head of Retail) Chloe also doubles up as an awesome tutor! Here she is with Lucy, our own Super Sam from the shop, Carrie and Lyndsay. The second session on Friday welcomed the ethereal Lola from Lola Hoad Design; cute as buttons Tia and Laura from Little Button Diaries; beautiful Emma from A Quiet Style; and the blossoming Clara of Clara Ivy...
From L - R: Clara, Lola, our own Chloe, and Laura, Emma and Tia What? We set our bloggers to work with a macrame session, with the aim to make themselves a plant hanger after mastering the ancient skill of knotwork...
We loved Fizzy Peaches' Lyndsay's nails! (Her knot work was pretty spot on too)
The guys picked up the technique quickly, and soon we were chatting about dogs (Lynsday's singing Labrador, Robbie), the wonders of coconut oil as a beauty product (and vinegar as a cleaning agent), crochet, knitting, nail art, and all sorts - one of the best things about our PTD Makes classes is the chat while fingers are kept busy. And we all agreed, there's something very therapeutic about working on macrame. The zen zone was definitely on!
Lucy and Carrie were pretty delighted with their makes by the looks of things!
We treated the gang to a Shibori tie-dye goodie bag, handmade here in our studio (see below to get involved with our Shibori Tie-Dye classes). We left them with a sparkly something each, plus a prize for you guys! Keep your eyes on their blogs and social for more information! Read what the girls at Little Button Diaries had to say about our Makes studio HERE; we think they approve! Why don't you get involved? Our PTD Makes classes are held regularly; click HERE to visit our site with more information about times, and the classes we run. And don't forget to check out our gorgeous group of bloggers' own sites. See you in the making room soon!
