Righty-ho Hannah, do tell us what you do at PTD
I've been here at PTD for 2 and a half years, co-running the Craft Department. We make a large range of paper, wood and leather based products, such as our Personalised Vintage Map cufflinks, pictures and books, our best seller the '10 Things I Love About You' box, as well as the lovely hand stamped leather key rings. A hands on process of hunting through maps, printing, mounting, cutting, sticking and stamping!
Jolly good. What can we find you making in your spare time outside of PTD?
I love working with lots of different processes, mostly making prints and illustrations with a combination of collage, drawing, photography and screenprinting. My aim for this year is to go back to basics and do more ink and pencil drawings. I've recently been dabbling in ceramics too.
What processes do you use with photography, traditional or digital or a combination of both?
I've always loved film photography and enjoy using 35mm, medium format, lomo cameras and allsorts! There's something really satisfying about the manual process. I'm no purist I do enjoy using digital cameras too.
How do you feel about Instagram being in the mainstream?
I'm actually a big fan of Instagram, I think it's a really fun and creative form of social networking! Find mine @tohannahclare!Do you exhibit around town?
I've most recently exhibited with Kollektiv Gallery, an amazing scheme curated by Sophie Giblin, involving lots of amazing local artists and makers. We've put on a series of pop up exhibitions around Brighton over the past year.
Most treasured personal item...
Well as a bit of a collector I have many so it's hard to choose! I come from a few generations of creators, my Grandmother was a photographer turned ceramicist and I've recently acquired her tool box which includes her hand made initial stamps, so those are my latest precious possessions!
And your favourite Posh Totty Designs product?
I've got a Quote Necklace which says ˜Make a nuisance of yourself' which I love, so It's got to be that. I love all the geometric range too.
