Talk us through the day
We really wanted our wedding to be relaxed, low key and intimate. We decided to celebrate in our beloved hometown with our close family and friends. We hired the whole of a little, gorgeous boutique hotel for 2 days where we had the ceremony and reception.
You wanted the wedding day styling to be colourful and vibrant?
Yes, we added bright and vibrant colours to the wedding day as it was such a joyful celebration and we wanted to incorporate the LGBTQ+ pride rainbow. So, our beautiful flowers were vivid colours and even our wedding cake had hidden rainbow sponge layers... complete with handmade figurines on the top of our family; Katie, myself and the dog!
Your bridal jewellery was very important to you?
Absolutely, I run the jewellery workshop at Posh Totty Designs so I wanted something really special and unique that could be hand made by the brilliant jewellers here. I also wanted the piece to be simple to work with my wedding dress, so I decided on a Personalised Sapphire Mini Message Necklace.
The sapphire stone traditionally symbolises love and good fortune and was also my "something blue". The necklace was personalised with our names and the date of wedding so completely unique to us and our day.
What was your most memorable wedding day moment?
Walking down the aisle. We have lots of creative talents at Posh Totty Designs and Sarah (who works in our craft department), and her husband are very musical. They played guitar and sung us down the aisle to our favourite song "Hold you in my Arms by Ray Lamontagne" which was absolutely beautiful and memorable.
