Bananas are the new lemons. Brights are back. Stripes are in (and out).
I am exhausted but energised after visiting the trade shows around the UK this month! There's so much to see. I was delighted to see that some of our jewellery designs already take their cues from these creative ideas (we like to be ahead of the curve y'know ????!), and I have bought some fabulous on-trend lifestyle products which we'll be stocking in our shops.
There were lots and lots of exciting creative ideas and products, so I have compiled a ˜What's Hot List' with my pick of the most exciting design trends for 2023/24.
1-Bananas are the new lemons!
2-Lobsters are still a thing
but the mermaid is now making an appearance and she's rather beautiful. She reminds me of all the lovely sea swimmers in Brighton.
3-Cowboy boots are making an appearance in homeware and stationery
Maybe the Wild West theme is inspired by Beyonce.
4- Stripes are in “ but wavy!!
I've always loved stripes. My boys (when they were little) always looked super cute in nautical stripes. As teenagers, I can't dress them in stripes now.
The stripes of this season are more fluid and illustrative with a big dose of my favourite trend - scallops.
5. Dopamine colours (red, pink, yellow and orange) are taking over the neon, pastels and neutral shades.
I've always been a massive fan of bright colours in the home so I'm very excited about this theme.
6. Celestial designs
We have always loved celestial designs, and this trend is still very much current. There were lots of beautiful sun, moon, stars and lunar phases imagery. When we are feeling lost it's nice to look out at all the wonders of the world that we can't explain...
7. Hands up!- pic of hamsa and shoe products
8. Reasons to be cheerful. Smiley face
9. Beautiful birthstones
10. Forever florals.
11. Always and forever. Mama bear
What I noticed the most was how positive and bright everything is. It may be our way of coping with how tough it's been over the last few years but if you can bring some joy into your life through colour then why not...Brighton is going to be even brighter!!!
