A beautifully dainty piece, the Forget Me Knot Necklace is handcrafted from Sterling Silver in our Brighton workshop. We donate profits from every purchase directly to Sussex Nightstop, so in buying this beautiful necklace you've helped the charity provide an essential safety net to young people aged 16-25 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. This keeps them safe from the dangers associated with rough sleeping. The necklace itself features a delicate knot pendant suspended from a sleek extra fine trace chain. Traditionally the act of tying a knot in a scarf or handkerchief was used to help remember something important. A pertinent metaphor for remembering those in our community who are in need of kindness and support. The necklace is a gorgeous self-treat for you or a gift that gives back for a loved one or a special wedding & anniversary present. The necklace can be plated with 18ct rose or 18ct yellow gold. What is 18ct gold plating?

Most of our silver jewellery can be plated with a thick layer (approx 1 micron) of 18ct yellow gold or 18ct rose gold.

Is your gold plating nickel allergy safe?

Our gold plated items are compliant with the Assay nickel release test (BS EN 1811:1998 and BS EN 12472) therefore they are suitable for those with nickel allergies.

Is 18ct gold plating permanent?

Gold plating can wear away overtime. This can be sped up by exposure to water, heat and certain chemicals.

If the plating on your product wears away within the first three months of your purchase we will happily re-plate the item free of charge.

How do I clean a sterling silver necklace at home?

The safest way to clean a sterling silver necklace at home is with warm water, mild soap, and a soft cloth to gently remove dirt and help reduce tarnish.

To clean your necklace:

Create a gentle solution - Mix a few drops of mild washing-up liquid with warm (not hot) water.
Soak and clean - Leave your necklace in the solution for 10–15 minutes, then gently clean with a soft toothbrush or cloth, especially around clasps and fine details.
Rinse and dry - Rinse thoroughly under clean water and pat dry with a soft, lint-free cloth. Allow it to air dry completely before wearing or storing.

Sterling silver may naturally develop a light tarnish over time, but this can easily be refreshed with a specialist silver polishing cloth to restore its shine.

Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as these can damage the finish or any personalised details.
